Nevermind having to organise bills once you arrive! UniHomes was created to make this process as easy as possible, so you can spend your time doing what matters. We cover all major universities and cities in the UK.

Our Story

2015

The UniHomes Journey Begins

UniHomes was born in Sheffield to help improve the lives of both students and letting agents. Noticing difficulties in the market, we set out to change the way student lettings work. Beginning with a handful of student properties, the team begin to roll out the service.

2016

We Expand to Leeds

After a successful launch, we expanded into Leeds. Forming key relationships with letting agents, the word spread amongst students that UniHomes was the place to find their perfect student accommodation. The UniHomes team grew quickly to keep up with the demand whilst still delivering the same level of great service clients and customers learnt to expect!

2018

The Journey Continues!

With two successful letting seasons under our belt in Sheffield and Leeds, we prepare to expand into a number of cities across the UK, including Newcastle.

We're rated 'Excellent' on Trustpilot by students and letting agents.

2019

Ten University Cities Covered!

After an exciting office move to accommodate our growing team, UniHomes expands to cover 10 university cities, including Bath, Norwich and Southampton.

2020

UniHomes Acquire Split The Bills

In December, we announced the acquisition of Split The Bills to operate alongside UniHomes. Split The Bills are experts in the student utility space, offering utility packages to students across the UK since 2011.

2021

Record Breaking Year

There were celebrations all round, as UniHomes work with a record number of letting agents up and down the UK. We also expanded into London, taking our total number of cities to 26.

This year, both the UniHomes and Split The Bills teams were united under one roof, located in central Sheffield. With an incredible team and lots going on behind the scenes, we're excited to see where this year takes us!

2022

We Continue to Grow

We're now in 36 cities with tens of thousands of student homes, welcoming new agents, and growing our UniHomes team.

As well as showcasing amazing student properties - we've partnered with great national brands that students love (like Taco Bell and Missguided) and launched our own brand ambassador programme.

We've already helped thousands of students find their perfect student home for the 2022/23 season and we're not stopping there!

2023

2023 - Our Biggest Year Yet!

Leading private equity investor LDC (part of Lloyds Banking Group) invested in us, which strategically accelerated our growth ambitions and propelled our regional expansion. We also achieved a 'Great Place to Work Certification' with 82% of staff rating us as such, and in addition, were ranked as the fastest growing technology company in Yorkshire and the North East, in the Deloitte UK Technology Fast 50.

Meanwhile, we delivered record-breaking results for our partners at the start of this letting season, expanded into 47 cities nationwide, and grew our team 65%, as we continued to take the market by storm and scale up ready to conquer new horizons!

2024 – Step aside 2023!

Another year, and we went even bigger! We achieved ‘Great Places to Work Certification’ for the second year in a row, with a higher 86% of staff rating us so.

Our co-founders, CEO Phil Greaves, COO Bradley Cox and CRO Luca Mori being named EY Entrepreneur of the Year North Regional winners, as Transformation Leaders.

The awards didn’t stop there either! We also won Silver in the Supplier of the Year Products and Services - Marketing category, while being Highly Commended in the Supplier of the Year Products and Services – Business category at the coveted The Negotiator Awards.

Meanwhile, our teams grew, we entered new locations, reached more students, listed 30% more properties and helped fill more letting agent portfolios than ever before!
